Plantar Keratosis

It is a condition in which there is Painful lesion about 1cm thick at plantar aspect of the forefoot .

TWO TYPES 

* DISCRETE

* DIFFUSE

DISCRETE : In this it is localised at one part particular area , separately in appearance .

DIFFUSE : In this case it is spread over a wide area covering more surface area .

SIGN & SYMPTOMS 

★PAINFUL LESION  which makes difficulty in walking

★ ITCHING  ON AFFECTED AREA .

★ Dry thickened Skin surface .

★ Difficulty in walking .

★ Scaly appearance .

Diagnostic and Conventional Treatment 

● It is self diagnostic and Conventional line of treatment will be use of local application to soften the affected part , Antihistamin for Itching .

● Cleaning of the affected parts .

● Proper Shoes for regular use .

Case .

Patient came with the complaint of thickening of skin at the arch of foot , He show the affected part and started conversation .

Pt : Dr I m suffering from this complaints since long a time and I took treatment from local as well as skin specialist , while using ointment and medication it is normal and less painful .

Dr : how can I help you ?

Pt : Sir I am feed up with the problem ( pareshan ) ho gaya hu .

You treat me for this complaint first then I will say you my others complaints .

Till now I am using steroid tablets and local application .

And the doctor is charging to much for it ..

Dr : Anything more ..

Pt : yes [ Kaam baad jayega baad gayi taklif toh ]

Dr : what problem do you face ??

Pt : Affected skin is thick and there is much cracks on it which pains a lot while walking . I am worker and I used to work with barefoot at my work place ..
Dr had advice me to wear shoe which I used to wear .
I only want it to be finished from it base .
