1 . SUBCUTANEOUS LIPOMA

It is the commonest type of lipoma .
Consist of fat cells and it is surrounded by capsule .
It can occur at any place in the body .

2 . DIFFUSE LIPOMA 

It is rare type of lipoma

Owergrowth of fat in the region of neck .

There is diffuse swelling in the region of neck because it is not cover with capsule .
So it is also called " Pseudolipoma ".

3. MULTIPLE LIPOMA . 

It is also known as lipomatosis .
As name suggest they are multiple in numbers .

Typical place for this type of lipoma is limbs.

They are sometime painful as it contains nerve tissue and are also known as Neurolipomatosis .

CLINICAL EXAMINATION FOR LIPOMA 



AGE : Mostly affects adults



DURATION : Exact duration of swelling will not be known as it is slow growing tumours , so they are difficult to known their duration of growth .



COLOUR : There is not change in the skin colour , if the size of lipoma is big enough then there will be stretch mark .



TEMPERATURE &TENDERNESS : No temperature associated with lipoma and No tenderness present .



SIZE AND SHAPE : They are of different sizes , typically they are egg shaped swelling .



POSITION : They are present at any part of the body .



MOBILITY : They are highly mobile and are freely move on the surface of the underlying muscles or tissues.



TRANSILLUMINATION : Examination by passing torch light will be positive .


SURGICAL TREATMENT :

As it is a benign tumours excision is performed on the tumour . And it is removed for cosmetics purpose .


HOMEOPATHY FOR LIPOMA

CALCAREA CARB .

It is one of the best constitutional medicine to treat lipoma. Usually individual would be obese and fair in complexion .

SULPHUR .
