LEUCORRHOEA (WHITE DISCHARGE) AND HOMEOPATHY - ALL ABOUT HOMEOPATHY 

Now a days WHITE DISCHARGE is quiet Common Complaints of Women's and Girls, which encounter daily in OPD . 

Today we will discuss about Leucorrhoea in detail and also Homeopathic medicine for Leucorrhoea or White discharge . 

Most of the time it is consider as a Physiological changes and no medical aid is required , but if there are changes in consistency , colour , smells , then medical aid is required .

WHAT IS LEUCORRHOEA ?

Basically , when the normal vaginal secretion  is increased in amount , its an subjective symptom which have individual variation . 

Secretions are Non Purulent and Non offensive . 

IN RELATION WITH AGE , ABNORMAL VAGINAL DISCHARGE . 

At premenarchal age , if there is abnormal vaginal discharge with offensiveness and vulval itching then it may be due to Ill health , parasites or foreign body . 

At Puberty due to increased oestrogen there is abnormal vaginal discharge . 

At Reproductive Age if there is abnormal vaginal discharge with pruritis and offensiveness marked then it may be due to Ill health , infective vaginitis , neoplasm etc 

At Post Menopausal , if there is abnormal vaginal discharge with pruritis , and offensiveness Marked then it may be due to senile vaginitis , moniliasis , neoplasm . 

CAUSES OF LEUCORRHOEA 

1 ) Physiological excess 

When the oestrogen levels is increased then there is excess secretions 

It occurs at time of

◎ PUBERTY 

◎ DURING MENSTRUAL CYCLE 

◎ PREGNANCY 

◎ DURING SEXUAL EXCITEMENT 

2) Cervical Cause 

Due to cervical lesion the endocervical glands secrets mucous which can be pour out at vulva .

Such Lesions are Cervical erosion , chronic cervicitis , etc 

3) Vaginal cause 

Due to increased vaginal transudation , vaginal walls produces secretions which is pour out at vulva . 

Cause of increased vaginal transudation is due to pelvic congestion , which is caused by uterine prolapse , Pelvic inflamatory disease etc . 

DIAGNOSIS 

Discharge is non offensive and non irritant 

General examination reveals ill health 

Vulval inspection reveals 

White Discharge 

No evidence of pruritis . 

Blood Examination . 

Culture Examination . 

CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT 

Improvement of general Health . 

Counselling is necessary to remove fear or anxiety regarding disease . 

Local Hygiene should be Maintained . 

Cervical causes needed surgery to remove the infected lesion . 

Vaginal causes should require therapy for pathology . 

Infective cause should be treated with proper course of antibiotics . 

HOMEOPATHY FOR LEUCORRHOEA .

SEPIA

Physically weakness , yellow complexion , tendency to abortion.
Mentally very irritable , easily offended . Indifferent to loved ones .
Leucorrhoea yellow , greenish with much itching . Pelvic organs relaxed
There is always a bearing down sensation as something would escape through vulva so she cross limbs to prevent it .
Menses too late and scanty , pain stiches upwards from uterus to vagina .


SILICEA

Leucorrhoea is milky , acrid in nature and flows during urination .
Sensitive and Itching vulva . Vaginal cyst
Discharge of blood from vagina every time child is nursed .
Patient is extremely chilly , yielding disposition . Nervous .
Got fixed ideas , fear pins of .


PLATINA

It is preeminently a women's remedy .
Female genitalia is overaensitive , can't bear napkin to touch her .
During PV examination , spasm sets in .
In  postmenopausal women , uterine polyps ,prolapse uterus are resonsible for Leucorrhoea .
Excessive itching in uterus , pruritis vulvae
Menses too early , profuse , offensive and dark clotted .

BORAX

 Leucorrhea like white of eggs , sensation as if warm water flowing down through genitalia .
Leucorrhoea specially after menses .
Pruritis of vulva .
This medicine has got marked fear of downwards motion which is present in almost all complaint .


KREOSOTUM

Leucorrhea offensive , acrid in nature , corrosive . Worse between periods
Leucorhoea has odour of green corn
Violent itching of vulva region and thigh
Menses are too early , protacted .
Leucorrhoea is offensive and intermittent .
Constitution : poorly nourished , ill health , slight lean thin , complexion dark .

ALUMINA

Discharge are acrid profuse , running down to heels
Aggravation during daytime , amelioration by cold bathing .
Burning sensation at genitalia relieved by washing with cold water .
Exhausted physically and Mentally after menses .
Patient got strong desire for starch , chalk , charcoal , indigestible things .
Mentally mild , cheerful disposition
Chilly patient .
